“Mini Zoo is serving as exhibition of bio-diversity of the District, also serve as Wildlife Conservation Centre. To bring closure relationship between Wild animals and human beings.”

The Mini Zoo was established with a vision to create an opportunity to the Public specially children to see wild animals in the closed proximity and to appreciate the wildlife in their neighborhood. Children’s recreations area was also created to allow them to have fun in the Wilderness which is being remodeled as per the directions of Member Secretary ZAK.

Adumalleshwara Gudi Mini Zoo and Balavana in the limits of Chitradurga Forest Division is situated at a distance of 5km. South of Chitradurga town in Sy.No.26 of Chitradurga ( Longitude : E – 76023’648”, N - 14023’094” ) at an elevation of 787mtrs above mean sea level (MSL). Jogimatti Reserve Forest has been notified as Wildlife Sanctuary dated 23.12.2015. The Mini Zoo is an enclosure in the sanctuary, spread over an area of 8.5ha. This mini zoo was opened and dedicated to public on: 12-04-1987. It is one of the 9 Zoos operating under Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) since 18.09.2017, recognized by CZA [ Central Zoo Authority ]. An advisory committee was constituted vide G.O.No.AHFF91FWL88 Bangalore, dated: 04-08-1989 under the Chairmanship of Conservator of Forests, Bellary Circle, Bellary. Zoo is housing Leopards.

• To maintain a healthy, hygienic and natural environment in the zoo so that be visitor get adequate opportunity to experience a natural environment.

5. To offer an excellent opportunity to the people to connect with Nature and Wildlife.
6. To provide recreation facilities to the public.
7. To provide an opportunity for the public to be part of zoo management by adopting animals at the zoo.

• Adumalleshwara mini Zoo cum Balavana, Chitradurga was established in the year 1986 as the Adumalleshwara mini zoo cum Balavana.
• It is located at south part of Chitradurga city 5.0 Kms from Chitradurga District of Karnataka state. It is about 3 Km away from the NH4 National Highway road.
• The Zoo is spread over an area of 8.5 Ha. This Zoo is 9th recognized zoo from Central Zoo Authority. It’s located in Survey Number 26 of Chitradurga town.
• The Zoo is well connected by road network and the nearest airport is at Bengaluru 185 Kms away.
• Davanagere is a Railway junction too.
• The tourists visiting chitradurga fort and Murugarajendra swamy matt can be attracted to this Zoo with adequate publicity.
